Moorehead Recreation Area is a 13 acre site located beside the Powder River. The primitive campground is secluded in cottonwood trees with some ponderosa pine. This site contains a campground popular for fall hunting camps. Buffalo Creek Wilderness Study Area and other BLM lands are nearby providing hunting and other recreational activities. Fire pits, vault toilet, picnic tables, and water for equines are available in the campground.
Overnight camping is permitted. This is a "Pack In, Pack Out" area and all garbage must be removed. Nor fireworks are allowed. Be mindful of seasonal and area fire restrictions.
